about

In the summer I stumbled across a collaborative project initiated by Elizabeth Veldon called 'our parents told us to always remember home, the evening star' inspired by a photograph taken of Earth from Mars. Here, for example is Caroline McKenzie's interpretation:

I was intrigued, read out the title to Thomas, my five year old son, and he immediately riffed on it coming up with an interpretative poem. I recorded it and intended to use it as the introduction to a see monsd drones-from-Mars album. As Elizabeth is mainly a Facebook user, which I don't have an account for, I tried to contact her via Bandcamp but my message must have got lost in the static. No matter, after a while I thought you know what - I could use this as a sound source for my pedal loop. In turn, that got me thinking that I'd very much like to hear what the possetronik dictaphonik take would be too. I sent the clips to Joe and we both had a go at moulding, stretching and chopping.

This short release is the result.
